Rating: 5 pizzas

Savory deep dish pizza, stuffed with gooey cheese, tangy tomato sauce, and steaming with your favorite ingredients (I'm thinking artichokes, mushrooms, sliced tomatoes, basil...) Add an icy cocktail made by a handsome bartender who knows just the right balance to give it a gentle kick. Set it all on a wrought iron table under a striped umbrella overlooking a crystal blue lake where people row past in little wooden boats, shouting and waving to people they know. Yes, it's the ideal mental vacation destination.

Now add a little murder, throw in some fishy local residents, a rascally cat, and a piping hot police detective. Check, check, and check! At this point it's redundant to say I really liked this book. But I'll say it anyway. The setting literally could not have been better. I get hungry just thinking about it! The characters were a lot of fun, each one at the bottom of a slump and climbing their way out together in what is quite possibly the best place to do that kind of climbing.

As far as cozies go, this book followed all the tropes we cozy fans know and love. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am very much looking forward to book two.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.
