When an evening walk goes wrong for old Nolan, Peg and Rose have their work cut out for them figuring out which one of the dozens of women he wronged finally got revenge.

I've been a big fan of the Melanie Travis series for years and I long hoped Berenson would start a new series. What's better than a new series? One that is an offshoot of a series you already know and love! Peg is a great character, she's gruff and harsh and demanding and underneath the hard shell she's got a warm heart that breaks through now and then. Rose is the polar opposite of Peg, warm and fuzzy on the outside and with a backbone of steel. The two women didn't speak for decades and are finally finding their way to a solid friendship.

Great mystery, wonderful characters, high stakes investigation, all against a background of poodles. I highly recommend this series to anyone who's a lover of cozies or dogs.
