Though Mackinac Island has proven to be a hotbed for homicide, the killer has never struck so close to home before. Shane, local crime scene investigator and beloved fiance of Allie's BFF Jenn, is found in an alley standing over a dead body with a bloody knife in his hand. Looks like an open and shut case but Allie and Jenn don't believe that Shane is capable of murder, even though he refuses to speak up about what happened that night.

The life of a peripheral character may have ended but this book was more about beginnings, focusing on Jenn and her upcoming nuptials and those of the couples she works with in her career as a wedding planner. It was kind of fun to see a couple reach the next level and see the McMurphy transformed into a beautiful wedding destination.

I enjoy this series a lot and it makes me really want to go see Mackinac Island for myself (to be a fudgie!) Allie is a fun character and I love reading the fudge recipes even though I would never try to make any of them myself. Her relationships take a turn in this book, though she obviously isn't ready to settle down yet. I think this series is a must read for anyone who enjoys reading culinary cozies!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.
