It's Halloween! I can't think of a better way to celebrate the holidays than a trio of works by some of my favorite cozy mystery authors. Halloween Party Murder contains stories by Leslie Meier, Lee Hollis, and Barbara Ross, and I highly recommend it to anyone who's interested in sampling some work by any of these awesome authors!

I skipped the Leslie Meier story, I don't read her books anymore. Lee Hollis wrote a great closed-room story, where Hayley's Halloween party, the first big event in her new restaurant, is shattered by the murder of one of the guests. Who killed him? It had to be someone at the party, but who had the most motive? As always, Hollis keeps the reader laughing over the characters antics and drooling over Hayley's recipes. This is one of my favorite series. The last story was written by Barbara Ross, part of her Maine Clambake series. I was thrilled that Julia broke up with Chris and I'm very excited to see a new development in this story (no spoilers!) At the end of October, Maine is hunkering down for winter and Julia gets in one last hurrah when her niece, Page, calls her on Halloween night asking for a ride home. A quiet slumber party at Page's friend's house turns into an all-out party, ending in the death of a local bookkeeper. None of the uninvited guests are too eager to speak up so Julia has to hunt down clues and solve the mystery. Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.
