I love this series! Brandy has tied the knot and her son Jake is spending the school year in Serenity, living with Vivian. LOTS is happening in Serenity right now- and in New Jersey! How does it all tie together? You'll have to read this book to find out!

Vivian and Brandy have long been my favorite mother/daughter cozy team. Vivian is wild, she's a consummate actress who literally has friends in both high and low places, and you never know what she's going to do next. She's a bit like Sophia from Golden Girls, she's done it all, seen it all, met everyone, and knows everything and even when she seems like she's falling apart she can put it all together like no one else. Brandy is a hot mess. There's no other way to put it. But you can't help but relate (even if you don't want to admit it) and she has her own charm. Jake is newer to the series (he's been there all along but now he's become one of the main characters) and he's pretty much the perfect foil to his mother and grandmother. And let's not forget Sushi. Sushi is a brat. Is there anything better than a bratty dog? Not in my world.

There's a ton of intrigue in this book. A new mob boss, a financial scam, a questionable pair of high heels, art and jewerly of suspicious provenance, all set in architecture designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. No one seems to suspect anything other than Vivian. Meanwhile all the things we love about the series are still included, the notes back and forth between Vivian and Brandy and Olivia, their editor, and the witty banter between mother and daughter and grandson.

Anyone who is a fan of cozy mysteries should definitely check out this series. There's so much humor and adventure and we have two such vastly different heroines there's never a dull moment.

Thank you to the authors, the publisher, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.
